The Deluxe Package adds an artistic touch to your building. It features a 5″ wider trim than the standard package. The trim is made out of composite wood giving it an authentic looking woodgrain and is resistant to rotting. Available for both the Vinyl & Painted Sheds.
The back and side cladding don’t match up since the sides are at an angle and therefore wider. I just put the angled boards equal distance from the top and bottom of the back cladding, but it still looks off.. Oh well, it’s purpose is to hold wood, not be a showpiece!
This will leave you with a flush surface for the roofing material to rest on later. Attach the two 63″ 2×4’s to the front and back of your structure.

So, I was pretty much intent on buying a wood shed. But, just for good measure, I did check out metal sheds and plastic sheds, too: Unfortunately, metal sheds can rust — like my existing one did. And I didn’t want another rusty metal shed on my hands in a few years. I once owned a small plastic shed. It’s still standing after nearly 20 years (now in my sister and brother-in-law’s yard). It’s served both me and now my sister and her husband well — but they’re ready to replace it. The plastic shed’s paneling is beginning to warp, allowing water inside the shed.

Like all projects, the cost of your shed will largely depend on the size and material of choice. You can build most sheds with wood, metal or vinyl, all offering their own set of pros and cons.
It’s important to note that both Home Depot Tuff Shed and Lowes Heartland Sheds use 2×4″ studs — which are much more substantial than the 2×3″ studs I saw in other sheds.
If you have standard homeowners or renters insurance, the policy does cover items that are in storage. However, items that are in storage can only be claimed at a certain percentage of your coverage limit. Consult your insurance agent to see how much the items would be covered.
The two-person crew was extremely professional. One of the two guys, an individual who had been working for Tuff Shed for several years, volunteered all kinds of maintenance and care advice to me. He told me exactly how to keep my shed in good working order for many years to come. Paint your wood Tuff Shed every few years – to help keep the exterior in attractive condition. Keep mulch and other landscaping materials away from the under lip of the wood siding — to reduce wood rot. Avoid abutting landscaping materials that might allow water to ricochet back up and under the siding — again, water getting under the wood siding could encourage rot development. Keep large plants farther away from the foundation to keep roots from growing up under your Tuff shed — however, ground plantings around the shed are okay. Don’t apply any adhesive flooring inside your shed — it could void the warranty.
The most suitable type of food that can be kept in storage will be items that are properly canned and/or are nonperishable. Non-canned food will go bad and bring a horrible odor to your unit, and will also attract the vermin. A vermin-infested unit will quickly get you evicted by facility managers so store with caution.
The loft shed was exactly what we needed in our space. It was built to our specifications, installed quickly, and is well constructed. I was a little concerned because of the slight slope to the ground, but they were easily able to level it. I’m very pleased. Jay F. Halliday 2 years ago
