Attach the 1×6 slats to the back of the firewood shed. Place the 3″ spacers to create even gaps between the slats. Drill pilot holes and insert 1 5/8″ screws to lock the slats into place.

Hi Brittany, very good and inspiring plan. I built it with some modifications of my own, and about a quarter of it is reclaimed or repurposed wood. Mine’s the same depth but 8′ long and with roof 9′ long as shingles come in 3′ lengths. I went up a foot higher than yours and reversed the slope of the roof as mine is next to garage wall. Also, I used deck screws instead of nails and handled the footings a little differently. I’d send you pics but don’t see how to. Recommendation: tell folks to make their cuts in the tallest 4×4 before assembling the shed; much easier and safer that way. Regards, Wayne
