One of the biggest improvements for me is that I have so much more head room inside the Tuff Shed: My old shed is about 6 feet tall at its center — my height exactly. Its side walls are only about 5 feet tall, so I’ve had to do a lot of crouching to get around on the inside of my old shed. My new Tuff Shed has a 6’2″ door, 7-foot-tall side walls, and a roof peak over 9 feet tall — so it’s just the right size for me.

Don’t pack away your belongings in cardboard boxes if they're going to be stored in your outside shed. This includes seasonal decor (yes, your Christmas decoration, too!), clothing that doesn't fit anymore, and memorabilia. Items in cardboard boxes are always vulnerable to insects, pests, mold, and water or moisture damage. Instead of cardboard, choose waterproof, pest-proof plastic bins (these 17-gallon Clear Plastic Totes with Locking Lids from the Container Store are great!) — especially if you choose to store clothes in a shed.

An administrative fee or 'admin fee' is a one-time fee that the facility will charge at the time of move-in. This is very common and is used to offset the costs of setting up your tenant account and processing paperwork. Usually the admin fee is between $15-$25, although in some cases it can be more. Sometimes this fee may even replace your security deposit charge.
