Cut one end of fourteen 5/8″ x 5″ boards at a 22.5˚ angle. Then line up and mark the other end against your structure. For a clean look, allow 5/8″ to overlap the back of the structure to hide the ends of the back cladding. (I suggest measuring and cutting your angled 5/8″ boards as you go. I have a 1/2″ variance in width along my sides.)
A: One of the most commonly asked questions about wooden sheds is how long do they last. Well, the answer to that is it depends on how well you look after them, and the weather conditions in your area. So first off, wooden sheds need a decent coat of preservatives at least every year in wet climates and once every two to three in dryer areas. This helps to preserve the wood, making your shed last longer. The other factor is weather: like anything, the harsher the environment the more abuse the materials are going to take. If you do happen to live in a wet and windy area, try to locate your shed in a sheltered part of your garden – and, we can’t stress it enough – good preservatives are key to wooden shed longevity. .

Sometimes we all need some extra space. Perhaps your garage, basement or closet is bursting at the seams with valuable items you simply can't do without. Maybe you're about to move to a new place, or you have too many seasonal items and nowhere to put them. Hopefully you're not struck with some unfortunate circumstance—a flooded basement, a damaged attic, etc.—and need some additional storage space. Whatever the reason, there's no solution more flexible, more affordable or more convenient than renting a self-storage unit.
Our structures are built to order, carefully, by hand, the way the carpenter builds a house. Standard wood framing techniques and materials are used, scaled to shed dimensions. Door openings are framed, and double swinging doors are reinfoced in a decorative pattern.

One of the easiest ways to roof a shed or small structure is to use corrugated roofing sheets. At 4′ x 6’7″, it’s easier to cover a larger area in just a few minutes. You can use metal or asphalt based corrugated sheets. (I used asphalt sheets from Lowe’s for my shed. For more specific and detailed installation guidelines, check with the manufacturer of your roofing sheet.)
